Boyd Hollow Resorts is an impact driven hospitality and experience development company creating story driven destinations that bring people together through meaningful experiences, thoughtful hospitality, nature, and wonder. Through resorts, immersive entertainment experiences, and wellbeing destinations, we create places where people can reconnect with themselves, with one another, and with the good that exists in the world.
The company is guided by a vision to make the world a better place by recognizing the good in everyone and to positively impact the world, guest by guest, through magical destinations based on acceptance and harmony, all within fun and entertaining experiences. Hospitality with Purpose is the guiding philosophy through which that vision is brought to life.
IT BEGAN WITH A STORY
Our story began in 2019 when founder Tom Boyd set out to create a legacy rooted in kindness, understanding, and human connection. In response to the growing divisiveness he saw in the world, he wrote Bokee’s Trek: Outcasts to the Inner Earth, a fantasy adventure following a young boy named Bokee as he journeys through mythical villages inhabited by characters of ancient lore.
Along the way, Bokee learns that everyone has value, everyone has something meaningful to contribute, and people are often far more alike than they are different. At the heart of the story is a timeless belief: when people slow down, meet face to face, listen to one another, and recognize the humanity in those whose experiences or perspectives may be different, barriers can begin to fall and genuine connection can take their place.
THEN BECAME A PLACE
That message became the inspiration behind Ancient Lore Village in Knoxville, Tennessee, an award winning boutique resort where storytelling, nature, and meaningful human connection come together in a truly unique guest experience. While the Village may first appear to be a fantasy destination brought to life, it was intentionally created with a deeper purpose: to give people a place to step away from distraction and division, spend meaningful time together, and reconnect with kindness, respect, imagination, and one another.
Ancient Lore Village became more than a destination. It became the first living expression of a broader vision and the foundation for the operating philosophy we call Hospitality with Purpose.

Ancient Lore Village proved that hospitality can do more than entertain or provide a place to stay. It can create the conditions for people to slow down, meet face to face, share meaningful experiences, and recognize the humanity and value in one another. Boyd Hollow Resorts carries that vision forward by developing magical, entertaining destinations and experiences designed to restore joy, deepen connection, support wellbeing, encourage acceptance and harmony, and help people remember the good in one another.
Hospitality with Purpose is the guiding operating philosophy behind this work. It begins with the belief that hospitality can do more than entertain. It can create places where people reconnect with family, nature, imagination, purpose, and one another. The philosophy shapes how destinations are designed, how experiences are developed, how teams serve, how guests are welcomed, and how growth decisions are made. Each concept is created with intention, considering not only what guests will see and do, but how they will feel, how they will connect, and what they may carry with them after they leave.
